Jobs Opportunity

Applications are invited from interested candidates (Pakistani / Dual National) for the post of Maritime Coordinator (BS-19) / equivalent under Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Government of Pakistan, who will be based at London, UK to give advice to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs on matters relating to International Maritime Organization (IMO) Protocols and other instruments. The applicant will be representing Pakistan in IMO. The post will be on contract basis for a period of 02 (two) years extendable for further 02 (two) years after evaluating the performance and with mutual consent. Salary, emoluments, remuneration and admissible allowances will be admissible as equivalent to the officers in BS-19 of Foreign Ministry posted in the High Commission of Pakistan at London, UK.

3. The applicants should submit their applications on the prescribed format and CV along with recent photograph (passport size) by 26th October, 2020 (by 5:00 PM PST) Incomplete applications/documents or those received after the due date and time shall not be entertained. 4. The applicants working with Pakistan Government / Semi Government departments or Autonomous Bodies should obtain NOC from their parent organizations before applying. Terms and conditions shall be applicable as notified by the Establishment Division.

6. Overseas candidates may have an option to be interviewed on Skype / Zoom

Senior Research Faculty Required

PAKISTAN NAVY WAR COLLEGE, LAHORE INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR A SENIOR POSITION AT THE RECENTLY ESTABLISHED MARITIME CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE (MCE) ON CONTRACTUAL BASIS. SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE TO SIGN AN “EX-PARTE BOND” TO SERVE FOR A MINIMUM PERIOD OF THREE YEARS.

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Political Science, IR, or International security from HEC recognized University. Foreign qualifications and a thesis on the maritime subjects would be preferred.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in HEC recognized academic institute or scholarly service in a think tank. HEC listed Advisor for Ph.D. candidates. At least 4 published papers in HEC recognized journals apart from columns in mainstream dailies. Fluency in oral and written English expression mandatory.

Job Requirement

Produce quality research papers on assigned subjects on a consistent basis, guide and supervise work of junior researchers, deliver regular lectures to MS level naval staff course participants on professional and academic subjects, sponsor all required research-related activities, act as sponsor of all other administrative activities as assigned.

Personal Profile

Not more than 52 years (could be relaxed by 1 year in exceptional cases).

Pay Package

Commensurate with qualification and experience.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITION

  • Un-married male citizen of Pakistan.
  • Age: Not more than 20 years as on 3rd Dec 2020; For FATA/ Gilgit-Baltistan / AJK / Balochistan, not more than 21 years as on 31st Dec 2020.

QUALIFICATION

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate: Pre- Engineering/equivalent in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with at least 55% Marks.
  • Candidates who are awaiting final results may also apply, however, they have to provide a ‘Hope Certificate’ from the head of respective College/Institute.

HOW TO REGISTER?

  • Prospectus & application forms are available with the PMA admission office and on the PMA website.
  • Submit the application form along with a pay order/ bank draft of Rs. 2500/- in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi, NBP, PMA Branch Code-0239. Candidates applying under Self Finance Scheme (SFS) are to submit additional pay order/bank draft for Rs. 300,000/- along with the application form. SFS fee will be refunded in case selected on open-merit.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

  • Entrance Tests are conducted at Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad(AJK), Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sukkur through hired Testing Services.
  • Minimum 45% is required to qualify in the entrance test.
  • Medical examination of shortlisted candidates will be conducted at designated Army/Navy/PAF Hospitals.
  • Final Selection is based on merit.

POINTS TO REMEMBER

  • An incomplete application form will not be considered.
  • Post education/training employment is neither arranged nor guaranteed by PMA.
  • Candidates from 0/A Level System are to submit their equivalence certificate from Inter Board Committee of Chairman(IBCC) Pakistan.

INELIGIBILITY

  • Withdrawn from any institute/college on disciplinary grounds.
  • Overage
  • Non-combination of required subjects.
  • Candidate having DAE degree.
  • Dismissed/debarred/removed from Government service including Armed Forces.
  • Declared medically unfit by Medical Board.

  • 33 Scholarships for 2 years course under Ministry of Maritime Affairs, sponsored by PNSC, KPT & PQA and 04 from GRG(GREEP), are offered on need-based to deserving Cadets(total 37); distribution of MoMA scholarships is as under:
